DAY 1 DEPART U.S.A.

A convenient evening flight takes you over the Atlantic on your way to Egypt.

DAY 2  ARRIVE CAIRO

Arrive in Cairo, where our host will meet, assist, and transfer you to your hotel. (B,D)

DAY 3 CAIRO GIZA/MEMPHIS AND IS SAKKARA

After breakfast a scenic drive will take you to the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza which have stood for the last 5000 years. Complete your visit at Giza with a tour of the Solar Boat Museum. After lunch continue to ancient Memphis, the first capital of united upper and Lower Egypt and Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. (B,L,D)

DAY 4  CAIRO  CITY TOUR

This morning your guide introduces you to the masterpieces of ancient art in the Egyptian Museum, including the Treasures of Tutankhamun. Drive to Old Cairo, where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue and Saint Serguis Church. After lunch drive to the Islamic quarter to stroll the Great Citadel begun by Saladin and visit the Mohammed Ali Mosque, also known as the "Alabaster Mosque".
Enjoy a walking tour of the colorful Khan El Khalili Bazaar district. This evening return to the Pyramids area for a Sound & Light Show presentation. (B,L,D)

DAY 5  CAIRO AT LEISURE WITH YOUR OWN CAR AND CHAUFFEUR

Today is yours, with private car and knowledgeable chauffeur at your disposal. You may enjoy re?visiting the Egyptian Museum, Pyramids area or shopping at the Bazaar. The car and driver are yours all day. You pay any admission charges involved. (B,D)

DAY 6  CAIRO/ASWAN

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your Deluxe Nile Cruise Ship. (Important note: Including all meals beginning with lunch the first day of the cruise and ending with breakfast the last day) This afternoon board a tall sailed felucca, for a view of Elephantine Island and a visit to the elegant Mausoleum of the Agha Khan. (B,L,D)
(Optionally, before you embark the cruise ship, you can take a sightseeing flight over to the temples of Abu Simbel. Visit the Great Temple o f Ramses 11, stand before four colossal statues of the Pharaoh with smaller statues at his feet of his wife Nefertari and daughters.)

DAY 7ASWAN/ KOM OMBO/EDFU

In the morning, visit the Aswan High Dam; the granite quarry plus a tour of the enchanting Temple of Philae on Agilkia Island. Enjoy lunch while sailing to Kom Ombo. Explore the enchanting Twin Temple of the Crocodile?Headed God Sobek and the Falcon Headed God Haroeris. Sail to Edfu and overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 8  EDFU / ESNA / LUXOR

Take a horse drawn carriage ride to the mighty Temple of the Falcon?Headed God Horus before sailing to Esna where you will pass the lock and continue to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor. (B,L,D)

DAY 9 LUXOR

After breakfast, cross the Nile by ferry to Western Thebes. Visit the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, the imposing Colossi of Memnon and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This afternoon is completely yours with no activities scheduled. This evening enjoy the magnificent Sound & Light Show presentation. (B,L,D)

DAY 10  LUXOR/ DENDERAH / NAG HAMADI

After breakfast your Egyptologist will lead you ashore for a half day devoted entirely to a tour of the magnificent Temples of Karnak
and Luxor. Sail to Denderah where you will tour the massive Greco?Roman Temple of Hathor, goddess of Love, Music and Joy, best preserved of all the Egyptian temple complexes. Sail to Nag Hamadi and overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 11 ABYDOS / SOHAG

This morning arrive at Abydos, where you will tour the splendid Temple of Osiris, God of the Afterlife. Sail to Sohag and overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 12 SOHAG / ASSIUT / TEL EL AMARNA

Pass the Sohag Bridge and sail to Assuit. Pass the Lock and continue sailing to Tel El Amarna where you will overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 13  TEL EL AMARNA / BENI HASSAN

Ashore this morning for visit to Tel Amarna. This is the setting in which the heretic pharaoh, mysterious Ahkenaten, placed his new capital city and attempted to make Egypt worship one god, the Sundisk of Aton. Explore the evocatively painted tombs of Nobles of Ahkenaten's court. Enjoy lunch while cruising. Take a bus ride to the Eastern Desert. There, ascend a sloping path to the tomb of local rulers revealing pictures of the world of that busy and innovative time. Ship will proceed sailing to Ashmounein. Visit the intriguing Ashmounein and its Necropolis, Tuna El Gabal, view the huge statues of the holy baboon. Drive to the desert to explore several of the odd tombs of the city's cemetery, enter a shadowy catacomb filled with the mummified remains of both the baboon and the sacred Ibis, the once native Egyptian bird also identified with the god Toth. Return to the ship for overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 14  BENI HASSAN/ MINIA/BENI SUEF

Spend hours today enjoying the hushed, rapturously beautiful scenery of the River Nile and its valley. (B,L,D)

DAY 15  BENI SUEF/CAIRO

Enjoy your last day sailing on the Nile. Arrive Cairo late this evening where you will overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 16  CAIRO

This morning your host will meet and assist you with transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Tonight you will be our guest for a special Farewell Dinner and colorful Egyptian Show. (B,D)

DAY 17  CAIRO/DEPARTURE

This morning our host will transfer you to the airport for your homebound flight. (B)
